It's nice to see what is going on at the society of st francis. It would be great if you created a blog (which can be updated as often as you like and by as many people as you like, but would be great if it was updated more often than the newsletters are published) so that we could have an idea of what the latest goings on are and your opinions, better than reading them in the newsletter. You could even publish your sermons on the blog if you wanted to.

"The devil is your shadow while si8lence is propulsion." The best way is to use the seven sacraments as often as possible. (Left Index)

For the last 14 years, our Parish of St Philip's has had the benefit of receiving the Ministry of the Friars of the Anglican Society of St Francis. We are indeed fortunate to have the ongoing pastoral care of at least four Ordained Priests, who preach very well and who provide the Holy Sacraments every week to Churchgoers. The Friars, through their Order, manifest a gentle but powerful witness to the Christian Faith and are also deeply involved in the wider community. We hope the Friars will stay for many more years.

it is with great humility i read the eulogy delivered at the requiem mass for Br Francis. Ihad the great honour to meet him at Fiwila, Zambia in the 1970s - yes a long time ago. The mission closed and we diddn't know where the brothers had gone until we met Br Aidan at the Mission for Sea men first in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and later in Rotterdam, Holland. We have always wondered what path in life Br Stephen and Br Desmond's lives have taken. We were a young couple working in Zambia near Fiwila and depended on the mission for medical help for our two small children. The sisters at the mission kindly helped me with their wisdom on how to care for them. The mission was also our parish church and we would go there on a Saturday morning, help with mission work eithe in the hospital or with transport attend services on the Sunday, cook lunch for the brothers and leave in the afternoon before it grew dark - there were man eating lions in the valley below the mission and it was brave of the brothers to ride their bikes to the villages inthe valley.
Iwould be most grateful for any news of the brothers- especially if any of them are still alive today.
I will look forward to a reply as the time we spent at the mission were some of the happiest days of our lives- LORRAINE LEGG
